Distinguished Teaching Award

In May of 2017 Professor Sadie Wignall was awarded The Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences Distinguished Teaching Award for her contributions to the education and intellectual development of students in both the classroom and the laboratory. In particular, Professor Wignall completely redesigned the 300 level Cell Biology course to introduce innovative approaches to helping students engage with the material and understand and critically evaluate experimental data. She also serves on the Churchill scholarship committee, and on the advisory committee for the Program in Biological Sciences. Dr. Wignall joined the Northwestern faculty in 2011, and her research focuses on the mechanisms of spindle assembly and chromosome segregation during oocyte meiosis.
