Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Molecular Biosciences at Northwestern University

The Department of Molecular Biosciences invites exceptional and innovative scholars to apply for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position. This vibrant department comprises faculty who direct cutting-edge research programs that encompass the spectrum of modern life science research from single molecule biophysics to the development of multicellular organisms. We are broadly interested in candidates that seek to understand the mechanisms that drive fundamental processes in biology using quantitative methods. Some example areas of particular interest include molecular evolution, multimodal imaging and analysis, cryo-electron tomography, and the use of mathematical modeling to understand complex biological systems. However, candidates focused on any areas that complement the strengths of our collaborative faculty should apply. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree and demonstrate commitment to excellence in research and teaching.

Northwestern University offers a rich intellectual environment and state-of the-art support facilities. Appointees will join an outstanding, highly interactive research community that is committed to collaboration across disciplinary boundaries. The Department of Molecular Biosciences has close ties with other Northwestern departments and centers, including Neurobiology, Physics, Statistics, Applied Math, the NSF-Simons Center for Quantitative Biology, the Northwestern Institute on Complex Systems, the Chemistry of Life Processes Institute, and the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Applicants should submit (in PDF format) a cover letter, CV, description of research plans, a teaching statement, and a diversity, equity, and inclusion statement.
